I began working with Kelsey in December of 2012, with some very clear goals of improving my Marathon speed while staying injury free. I had a few years of running experience but found that without expert guidance I was struggling to maintain a training plan that encouraged healthy legs. Not accustomed to the demands of marathon training I had been plagued for over a year with a variety of issues that had left me injured several times. Coach Kelsey devised a training plan for me that incorporated useful mileage, cross training and an emphasis on strengthening my obvious weaknesses. I was thrilled to come out of the winter stronger and more confident, easily shattering my marathon PR by 4 minutes when I accomplished my goal of running Boston. Never one to be content with reaching one large goal I spent the summer training for my first 50K, which I successfully completed. This fall, after another fun and productive training cycle I was delighted to reach my sub 3:30 marathon goal, finishing in 3:25:45- something I never thought possible just a few months earlier. Kelsey creates training plans for me that meet my needs both as an over achieving athlete and someone who has to balance a very busy job and lifestyle on top of that! I feel that coaching from Kelsey would enable any athlete, at any ability level to see massive changes in themselves. I accomplished goals this year that I knew were lofty, and I give Kelsey a ton of credit for getting me to this point in my athletic journey! I look forward to 2014, setting more ridiculous goals and seeing them happen with Kelsey’s help.
