Your Ego is a Drama Queen

After last night’s dinner, we had some extra zucchini noodles and pesto to put in the refrigerator. My husband asked me if I wanted the noodles and pesto in the same container. “Yes,” I said. “Wait, no,” I changed my mind. “Umm, actually, yeah,” I changed my mind again. I believe I changed my […]

    What’s Beneath Your Mask?

I want to see you. I want to see you shine in all your brilliance and awkwardness. I want to see you let go of perfection. I want to see you escape from the role you’ve been playing. I want to see you break free from the rules you’ve been following. I want to see […]

    My Word for 2016

I’m writing to you from a comfy chair. I’m outside–in shorts. There’s a soft breeze. Geese are calling. Swans are flapping against the water as they do a long take-off. And my home is behind me. It’s a box–a box with a bed and a small bathroom and a small kitchen. Everything is awesome. […]

    What Is Confidence Coaching?

The other day, I went into a toy store to pick up a baby shower gift. I knew exactly what I was looking for—a cuddle hedgehog I’d seen on the store’s website the previous night. After a few minutes of browsing on my own (and exercising extreme will power to not sniff any of the […]

    Ketchup and Confidence

My Dad used to say, “no labels on the table.” In other words, instead of putting a ketchup bottle on the table, put some ketchup in a bowl and serve it with a spoon. That way the ketchup can stand alone in its tomato-y goodness, unattached from a particular brand. Or maybe it just made […]

    YOU Are Awesome!

Last week, I ran into a friend I hadn’t seen for a while. The first thing she said to me was, “You’re beautiful!” We had a very short, very deep conversation and I left feeling lighter, free-er and definitely beautiful. Words can change someone’s day. Words can change someone’s life. YOU can change someone’s life. […]

How Can You Dive Deeper? (Lessons From a Sea Lion)

How well do you adapt when the universe throws you a curveball? I just returned from the Galapagos–an incredible part of the world where we can easily see how animals are regularly adapting to various curveballs–and it got me thinking that animals are often a whole lot better at problem solving than humans are. I’m […]

Who better to attribute my ongoing recovery to than Kelsey Abbott. Dealing with an Achilles/heel pain issue for a year, she listened to what I want and need, then based her conclusion on what type of training I needed to “get back” into running and feel better about myself. I’m 63 and just retired and now want to “reinvent” myself and get my sense of humor back. Her life coaching skills not only helped me to realize that I’m choosing the same life choices and expecting different results, but opening my eyes to other possibilities with less fear. I feel more outrageous, strong, kind, and thankful for having a great family along with a healthy body. Thank you Ms Kelsey, for slowing me down so I can go faster, you will forever be in my head when I am running or making life decisions.
